Boat Engine

What will I have to do to my 15′ freshwater boat or engine to get it ready for saltwater boating?

The boat is aluminium V-hull and the engine is a 9hp Mercury

nothing before use but after u need to clean it and flush the motor with fresh water to prevent corrosion
