    @ Mr. Sheehy: I'd love to hear your process of making good coffee. This is an area in which I could definitely use improvement. I've met several people in recent years that make tremendous coffee but their process is so complicated (i.e. roasting their own beans, using scales for the right amount of beans, thermometers for the water, etc.) that I find it to be overwhelming. Knowing you, I bet you're much more practical. So walk me through your process if you have the time.

    the electric smoker is great. It has a little door in the bottom so I can add wood and water without opening it up and releasing the heat. The flavor is incredible. I smoked a couple salmon filets a few months back and Kristi can't go back to how we used to eat it now. I was indeed planning on using a brine for my turkey. What did you use for your Thanksgiving turkey?

    It is, I mean was, an electric smoker. I plugged it in yesterday to do up some ribs and within five minutes it tripped the surge protection in the plug strip I was using. I tried it again… same thing. So I switched the extension cord. Same thing. Then I plugged it into another (safety) circuit in the house without the surge protector strip. Same thing.

    Next, I threw it across the yard. It still didn't work but I felt better.

    Following that, I took it out to the curb and after the pic and a moment of silence, said goodbye forever.
