How long should I wait to follow up on a possible employer.?
I have had 4 meetings. One for the initial contact. Two after interest was shown by the employer. Three after taking a test for the job, (I passed) and four a long interview about the details and responsibilities of the position. An indepth application packet was then sent out of state to corporate headquarters for processing and appoval. That was 3 working days ago. I hate being so close but just don't have it etched in stone, ya know what I mean?
First, that letter of "Thank you " to the interviewer should be in the mail. ( I have always done this). It's polite and shows character.
During the interview an estimated time frame should have been given by the interviewer on when you should expect a word back from them. If not you should have inquired on a time frame process.
If a time frame was given or not. Give a courtesy call to the interviewer and inquire. Keep note of date, time, person spoke to and what was said between the two of you. This will help you should you need to follow up from this call. This way you will be able to hopefully refresh their memory as well as your own. In doing so you demonstrate your dedication, persistency and consistency. Best of luck!!
