Why General Shepherd betrayed Task Force 141?

And is that true, a tactical nuclear bomb that explodes in the space can cause an EMP effect on a very large area?

Don't try to make sense of the main story for MW2...

Shepherd was the commander when the nuke went off in MW1, and lost 30,000 men. No one cared. Soldiers die in foreign countries, it's all part of the plan. So he set everything up to bring the war to the USA. TF 141 was on to him, so he had to eliminate them.

And yes, nuclear weapons do cause an EMP, one detonated at the right altitude could cover a very large area. I will say, an EMP would have no effect on ACOG sights. They use Tritium to light up in low-light conditions, and fiber-optics in bright conditions. There is nothing electronic in them. Red Dot CCOs on the other hand are battery operated and would shut down in an EMP. That's why we have backup iron sights. Your CCO dies, you just flip up your iron sights and continue fighting.

Fire Force 1 exploding Flame & Thunder

If a nuke the size of Manhattan Island exploded how big would the explosion be?

I watched the film Sunshine the other day and to re-ignite the sun they dropped a bomb the size of manhattan island into it. According to a documentary about Chernobyl, the authorities were worried that when the nuclear fuel was still burning (about 195 tons) that it might explode with the force of 3 - 5 megatons. This would have apparently made Europe uninhabitable.

Surely a nuke with the mass of Manhattan Island (whatever that is) would obliterate a planet?

Surely I would like to blow up the manhattan.......that is my dream come true.......

I like your thinking even though I don't understand most of it. I think it is possible to travel faster that the speed of light. Keep working on it, good luck.

All fun and games, but he just had the force of an exploding airbag on his balls. I would have been stunned too.
