   Is your desired city a place where you have scalators, and moving corridors to go everywhere instead of using your feet and legs (americans do have them, do you?).
   There is a place in Europe, called Holland, where people prefer to ride a bycicle (it has no engine, it moves because the rider pushes!) to go to their jobs, schools, concerts, etc. instead of burning gas on an engine.
   I imagine that sound like a nightmare for you, but believe: it exists. And people is happy there.

   May be you have to question yourself a little about that.

   I could stop for that — but hate dealing with mechanical stuff and wasting hours and hours when I could be shooting. I've had three days without a key stick. Plus I had a garage show me how to detach the battery cable with a wrench if I need to. I'm probably going to go with that method if need be. It's been turning off the engine, never on, that's the problem. Happened 3 or 4 times now and really freaks me out. But I drive a bit and then it's fine.

   Point noted about the line not being able to carry power over that distance, given its thickness. Yeah, perhaps a gas engine would be best. Given the numbers on small 2kw generators, a few gallons should be able to last 20-30 hours. Though, you’re SOL once it’s up there unless you have a renewable source. What are your thoughts on a 6-8ft mast for a miniature turbine, so it could function after it was buried by snow…which would happen almost immediately. Say the goal would be to get a rover to the summit and then have it transmit video/images for an extended period of time. They have 3G coverage on the summit, so comms are covered.

   the “ticking” sound is actually your starter clicking off. if you dont' get that sound then your starter may be frozen over and non operable. if you're getting the clicking, but no power, then it might be your battery, which might in turn be your alternator, which is a little device in your car that recharges your battery while the gas engine is running. Your car battery really only has enough juice to run your car without an alternator for about 20 minutes, I just had to change mine out

   Also, your battery may be frozen too, but I'm not familiar with cold/battery issues, cause I live in florida

   As for your milk, I would suggest a taxi? or perhaps some friends can take pity on you and bring you milk?
