German Tiger Hi why the German Mark VI Tiger tank was the most scariest tank in WW2?
Hi is it because is faster?powerful? body amor? And was it better then the American tank? Thanks! The more you tell me, the more know about the military.
The Tiger's armor and main gun were both completely unmatched at the time of its deployment in late 1942. It's frontal armor was almost entirely immune to the spectrum of 40mm, 57mm, and low-velocity 75mm and 76mm weapons that were the norm for tank and anti-tank weapons in all Allied armies at any practical combat range. It's main gun was perfectly capable of defeating the armor of any tank on the battlefields of 1942, at any range, on into 1943 and some of 1944 in the East, and until 1945 in the West.
With the exception of the Kursk offensive, however, the Tiger saw precious little offensive deployment outside of local or at most operational level counter-attacks. As such, this primarily defensive deployment glossed over many of the flaws of the tank, such as a relative short range and poor mobility, as in many battles all Tigers were required to do was gun down enemy Tanks while staying still or falling back.
Also, while it was certainly a gas guzzler, the poor mobility of the Tiger can be put down more to mechanical unreliability than the chassis being slow and over-loaded. Tigers were actually capable of speeds and performance levels both on and off road similar to those of Sherman Tanks. However, while Shermans were capable of such performance right out of the factory, a Tiger generally had to have its engine almost entirely replaced with spare parts in the field (a 'teething' period as the German tankers called it) before such reliability and performance could be achieved.
Perhaps the biggest edge the Tiger Tank had over its opposition on all fronts, however, was the extremely high quality of the crews that operated them. People can go on and on about the T-34/85 and the JS-II series, but the fact of the matter is that German crews were quite simply better than that of any army. Tigers consistently out performed ALL Soviet armor and ALL Allied armor by effort of the men inside the machines more than anything else. Panzer Truppen were rigorously screened, tested, drilled, and selected. Only the absolute creme of the German Army were admitted into the Panzer Corps, and of these, only seasoned, proven veterans were given Tigers.
German tactics, training, and most importantly optical and sighting equipment within the tanks were far and away superior to that of their opponents. The range at which German armor could engage as well as the rapidity with which it could spot, acquire, and mark targets was a significant advantage that is often over looked. It is the reason why even Panzer IV's, a tank nominally on par with a Sherman (but with a better gun), was able to fight and more than hold its own for the entirety of the conflict in Europe. The quality of German tactics and armor crews in general often led panicked GIs in France to report just about any German tank, Panzer IV's, StuG III's, anything, as 'Tigers'.
So, simply put, it's got a lot of Armor, a gun that's capable of killing just about anything, and a crack-veteran crew that, given such a well protected killing machine with a gun capable of destroying any tank in the war at acceptable ranges, were able to pretty much out perform any of their counter parts, and continue to do so even as the technical specs of the tank began to lose their primacy as things moved from Mid to Late war.
The Best Radio Control Tank for Action Packed Battle Simulations
Hobbyists and battle simulation enthusiasts can greatly enjoy a realistic radio control tank. This type of RC war machine provides the firepower for your mini-army. The realistic features, sounds, and munitions of radio controlled model tank will make your battle simulations more exciting and fun. You can engage your friends in intense actions with RC tank. If you have this kind of RC vehicle, you can overpower the troops of your opponents. Here is a practical guide that can help you choose the best RC model tank for battle simulations.
Appearance and physical features are very important for a radio control tank. You need to have a model tank that will look menacing in order to heighten the realism of the battle simulations. So it is always important to consider the built-in physical features of radio controlled model tank before you make a purchase. First, you need to choose a battle tank that roars and grumbles whenever you rev up the accelerator on your remote control. The sounds and ambient audio produced by the tank can strike fear among your opponents. It is also best to choose a model tank that can produce smoke to make the battle more realistic. Most important of all, make sure that the tank's turret can rotate and move up and down so that you can easily maneuver your firing line.
The munitions or the armament of a radio control tank should be carefully considered also. There are two major types of model tank munitions. These are infrared controlled firepower and physical BB pellets. A radio controlled model tank with infrared capability is safer. It only fires infrared signals against other tanks to simulate actual bombardment. A direct hit against other tanks triggers a simulated explosion with blinking lights, blasting sound effects, and vibrations. The infrared-capable model tanks are best if there are children involved in the battle simulation. Other types of battle tanks are equipped with turrets that can store BB pellets. The BB pellets are fired from the turret using gas pressure. These munitions are best if the battle simulations require the destruction of enemy encampments. BB tank models can fire their munitions automatically without manual reloading.
Of course, you can not have a simulation if there is only one radio control tank available for battle. So when you look for model battle tanks, it would be best to choose a product that comes in pairs. Usually, an infrared kit consists of two battle tanks. You have to make sure that the radio controlled model tank can be configured for multiplayer battle. The best tank models allow up to four players. If you want a BB model tank, then there are plenty of options available for you. You can have a standard Abrams or Leopard tank. You may also like the World War II veteran German Tiger tanks. And if you really want to impress your friends, why not buy an amphibious model tank. This type of battle tank can storm across all types of natural barriers like grass, pools of water, rocks, and sand.
