Hydroplane Model

Had an accident.. question abt Total Loss?

I purchased an Infiniti G35 sedan 2008 model in Dec 2008. The car was pre-owned by a rental company for 6 months before I purchased it. Two weeks back I hydroplaned while driving on a freeway and had an accident. The car spun and hit the guard-rail twice before coming to a halt. The cop that arrived at the scene asked me to drive to the shoulder across the freeway and park there. I was able to drive the car and did not hear any noise from the engine. The front portion of the car was badly damaged but that's about it.

My insurance company assigned an Adjuster to inspect the damages. She called me today and said she has not yet completed the estimates but so far the repair expenses have already reached 19k. I was SHOCKED to hear this. I purchased the car for 25k. Why would the repair expenses go that high??? for a car that is pretty new???? I almost feel like I am being scammed... She is going to confirm the details tomorrow.

Can someone please help me with this?

ridiculous you could buy a used dealer car for 19k
does it still turn on ?
4k the most for body parts radiator condenser headlight etc....
