Outboard Engine
How much should a 5 horsepower outboard engine cost?
Somebody wants to sell me a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton outboard motor. Supposedly, it only has 10 hours on it. It looks new to me, but i know that it is several years old. It is camouflaged for duck hunting. Thanks.
I didn't know they made anything but lawnmower engines. Anyways, $250.

Gone But Not Forgotten, The Homelite 55 Outboard Motor
Hi i have a mercury 500 50hp outboard engine and was wondering where i connect my tachometer wiring harness ?
I know that the harness plugs into the throttle remote but ive also been told you need to connect it to the electrics on the engine itself can anyone tell me where it needs to be connected to on the engine please.

There should be a 3 wire receptacle on your remote control, it may be covered with a plastic cap. If you don't have a compatible plug, the white is +, the black is -, and the brown is the sender. If you have a tiller motor, the receptacle will be under the cowl. Here is a link to the wiring diagram.
