Pin Plus

24 pin motherboard and 20+4 pin power supply unit?
Ok so my motherboard supports 24 pin for the power. The old 250 watt PSU that I just replaced only used 20. Now I got a 500Watt supply that has 20 pins plus the detachable 4 pins. I just installed it but using only 20 pins, and it powered up fine. I guess my question is should I just keep it the way it is or go ahead and connect the 4 additional pins? I guess it's already supplying 500 watts so what are the additional 4 pins for? I have a 2.7gig athlon computer and I got this new power supply for a better graphics card.
Some computer Motherboards use 20 pins and some 24. If it is running fine on 20 then I would put a bit of tape around the extra 4 and insulate them. That is only to protect them from contacting something else.

A pin number is not based on what type of account you have. A pin is just a computer generated number. You can change the pin to something you remember and and some cash points let you do this.
Sounds like you need to walk into the bank and get them to send you a new pin. After you get this in the post, it will tell you how to change it to something you remember!
You may be able to do it online even through it says debit card (almost everyone has a debit card) but if will soon tell you if it hasn't worked.
Best bet is to walk into the bank though!
