A question for sailors?
A question for sailors
I have tried to find a listing in Yahoo Answers for “Sailing” I can’t seem to find one. Don’t you think that we should at least have a separate listing somewhere? Some of us sailors race our boats, while others just cruise. So listing “Sailing” in the “Sport” section would not work. There is a listing labeled “Boats & Boating” in the “Cars & Transportation” section, but it seems like 99% of the questions deal with powered watercraft. I think the best thing for Yahoo Answers to do to accommodate us sailors is to make a separate listing labeled “Watercraft Unpowered” and rename the other one “Watercraft Powered”. Of course this is only a suggestion, but don’t you think that we deserve some sort of listing? So, my true question is this: Would you fellow sailors please take the time and write Yahoo Answers and suggest that we get our own listing?
im a racer alright been abroad loads to do it ( new zealand, italy, france and maybe even japan next year its one of the sports that GB truely rule at sorry guys hands down britain rules the waves just look at our medal tally at the olympic sailing!

Put-in-Bay Watercraft Rentals
A little body damage = $185?
Today I rented a Personal Watercraft. After cutting the power I drifted into another watercraft and put two small (about 1 mm or less in diameter) scuff marks on the fiberglass body of the boat.
They called me and told me it would cost $185 to repair. Am I getting ripped off or is this a legitimate cost to repair. Will they even repair it, or will they likely just pocket my $185?
Body repairs are expensive. $185.00 isn't a high price at all (in todays market). It is all "relative" though. $2.25 for a gallon of gas seems like a bargain now, but I remember buying it for $0.39 per!
They probably won't repair it, but you are still liable for the damage IF YOU DID IT!! Renting or using someone elses stuff always carries a hazard. Make certain that you inspect and document any damage before you take possesion, and also before returning. Those marks COULD HAVE been there before you rented!
You are stuck though fot the repair, no way around it. You most likely even signed a paper saying you would be responsible!
