Sensor Tower

On board Sound Unit in Tower?
I have been suffering under loud and annoying sounds coming from my tower for a while now, and in light of the fact that they are not justified by a heating problem, I have dubbed the sensor in the tower broken and in light of this disconnected the black and red wires running to the speaker inside the tower.
IT IS STILL MAKING THAT NOISE.
How can I either stop it altogether or remove the unit completely?
Would cutting the white wires and electrical taping the ends hurt the computer?
If you didn't know, there is a small speaker inside towers that is designed to make noises to manually sound the alarm of computer problems. It is independent of the sound system and connected to the motherboard and onboard sensors.
It's just an alert noise that comes periodically from the tower with no reasonable cause and no correlation with any other times that it did it. It literally happens at random.
I have now removed the unit entirely.
The speaker inside your case is there purely to emit 'Beeps', usually as a form of error code. Often one beep signifies that things are OK on boot up. It's unlikely that this speaker could be causing the problems you mention, especially since you've disconnected it. However, there should be no problems with you taping up the ends of these wires, other than you'll get no error codes.
If you describe the noise you might get some more help. Lots of components inside the tower could be causing a noise.
Does the noise happen when there are no discs in (no floppies, no cd's etc)? Is accompanied by a vibration (put your hand on top of case when noise appears)?

Starcraft 2 - Terran Sensor Tower Watch Enemies Behind Fog Of War
Can enemies see the Sensor Tower area of effect in Starcraft 2?
I think I remember reading somewhere that enemies can see an outline on their mini-map that tells them where sensor towers can see.
Yes they can. Which is why it's best to be careful about where you place them since they're very gas heavy and easy to snipe.

If I played the noob race, I’d always have at least one sensor tower per expo that I had. Since the most a Terran ever expos is two, then I’d have two.

Try to spread and use to extend creep tumor spread range. When you hit t2, try to get OL speed for scouting purposes, send an OL in to see his techs. He will usually not be ready for your OL so it should be easy (unless he has a sensor tower). When this happens, spread your OLs to all the expos you think are safe/untaken (since they move so fast) and generate creep to stop him upping an expo straight away. Also, he has to wait for the creep to recede and you know what he is planning after that. In late game, where you have more overlords than you would normally like (lol) you can use them to spread creep in a ‘creep highway’ fashion whilst backing this up with creep tumors. This works well because if you make a tumor on an area where an OL is generating creep and you move the OL as soon as the tumor finishes, the creep that exists has a new power source and will continue to spread according to the tumor’s area. ie. puking before spreading will help spread go faster.
