3 channel servo help?


hi
i am building a bait boat for my fishing mad brother and have a fully working rc boat with a tipper tray built in. the problem, is i need to get the tipper tray to work off the same controller which controlls the boat.
the servo control unit has another socket on it and the controller i have is from an model air plane and has 12 channels.
do i just add my new servo into the empty socket and will the controller find it and will it all work?
i have a ripmax control box and arial and a Focus 4 by hitec controller.
