Soldier Radio

Is satellite radio allowed for soldiers in Baghdad?
We're wondering if we can send it for his birthday.
Though satellite radio is currently available only in the U.S. and Canada, I do remember hearing that the satellite companies have made it possible for soldiers in the middle east to receive it.
Try contacting XM/Sirius customer support.

LG GC990 Louvre vs Acer beTouch E100: Future's Soldier Vs Today's Knight
The mobile phones are generally used all over the world to communicate, to entertain, for business purposes and with time many mobile companies have evolved and giving their services in this sector. Some of the big players in this sector are Nokia, LG, Acer, Samsung to name a few. LG and Acer are two big and established companies in the field of electronics. Both these companies are still evolving themselves in the mobile sector as it is still ruled by giants like Nokia and Sony Ericsson. So to compete with them in the market , they have to constantly upgrade their gadgets and infuse them with latest technology and innovative features.
So to remain upbeat with the market, LG has announced that it will launch its new product, LG GC990 Louvre in the market in the near future while Acer's beTouch 100 is still ruling the roost and has made a considerable amount of consumer base for itself. Acer beTouch100 is a touchscreen phone having a screen size of 3.2 inches with a TFT resistive screen which imparts 65000 colours with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels while the Louvre will have a screen size of 3.2 inches but it will impart 16 million colours through its TFT touchscreen with handwriting recognition tool with which one can recognise the handwriting and convert them into texts as well. Another major difference is the camera of both the mobiles. The Acer be touch100 has a 2 megapixel pictures which gives a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels with a video feature. On the other hand, LG handset will be equipped with a 12 megapixel camera with Scheider-Kreuznach optics and one can record video at 30 frame per second at a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. That is not all, it will have features like auto focus, xenon flash, Image Stabilizer, Blink Shot, Smile Detection, Digital zoom, Geo Tagging as well. This is the USP of the product as well because there are very few phones available in the market having such a finesse. There will be a secondary camera as well which can be used for video calling.
As fas as the data technologies are concerned both the phones are 3G enabled but Acer be touch 100 has GPRS connectivity, EDGE and bluetooth while the latter one is said to be equipped with aforesaid technologies along with the a WiFi internet connection along with WAP and HTML technologies. The betouch100 gadget has a memory space of 256MB RAM which can store approximately unlimited phone book entries and call records. It also has a micro SD using which the memory can be expanded. The memory space in the LG phone will be an expandable one and can be expanded using a micro SDcard and it can store at least 1000 names capacity, multiple names per contact, along with Picture ID and Ring ID.
The Louvre has some interesting messaging features embedded in it. Apart from sending SMS and MMS, it will be able to send Emails with the help of advanced versions of IMAP, POP3 and SMIP. The sound and music features of Acer beTouch100 includes MP3 player, WAV and WMV player while LG GC990 Louvre will be equipped with MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA technology and one will be able to play the videos on MPEG4, 3GP, WMV, AVI, DivX, XviD, H.263 and H.264 formats. The Acer phone supports MPEG4, WMV, H.264 and H.263 formats. The stereo radio will be present in the LG phone while the latter one does not have this provision.
So both these impeccable beauties are marvels in their own way. The main difference is that Acer beTouch100 is the king of hearts and LG GC Louvre990 will be the ruler of the roost.

Well the soldier on the radio lied when he called over that they were picking up weapons, and while he was cursing “let us shoot” he could clearly see children in the van picking up wounded. As for the journalist they should of known what they were into, but the men in that AH64 clearly just wanted to shoot, and yeah you must have a positive id on a target before you engage. Ever heard of the rules of engagement. The only reason you shoot with no id, is when the enemy is armed,Hence when he says picking up bodies and weapons he was trying to get permission to shoot and he knows he will get this by saying weapons are involved but those people and children in the van picking up the wounded journalist were obviously not armed, though that is what was reported. Those guys play too many video games.

Such things are bound to happen when the American pilots treat their plane cockpits like a video game. "Hey dude… just got minus 10-points on that friendly hit!!.
