Starter Belt
how do I know if my timing belt is broken?
my acura 90 wont start battery is good starter is kicking but it wont start.
I hope the belt's not broken if you have an "interference" type engine (check the Gates belt listing below for your model). If the engine cranks over real easy (sounds faster than normal even on a low battery charge), then that's one tell tale sign of a broken belt because the engine no longer has any compression to resist it turning over.

How do I change a starter?
I need to change the starter on my 2000 Chevy Malibu. I'm not into cars or how to fix them. I can do brakes and oil changes. Change belts and spark plugs. The small stuff. But I have no clue how to change a starter. Can anybody help?
if you can do the brake you can do the starter.. undo the battery jack it up remove the wires if you can then the bolts that hold the starter sometimes you cant get to the wires first if not dont drop it but let it down enough to get them off your done... not a hard job about as easy as the brakes remember how the wires went your good

Funny, came up with something similar a while back, but since we don’t have that type/brand jar openers here, I used a piece of starter belt for miniatures. Works pretty neat – plus, you can get different size belts, not every lens is the same.
