Track Sprocket Why does my garage door opens then reverses down? Sears Craftsman 1/2 hp?
I have a Sears Craftsman Garage door opener 1/2 power. My Uncle was letting the garage door opener down when he decided to stop it mid way. When he did that it snapped the gear completely off. I replaced the sprocket assembly and with the garage door on or off the track it opens and then reverses. I had a garage door tech to look at it and he said the circuit board needed to be replaced. Well I replaced it as well as the RPM sensor and it still does the same thing. The path of the beam is also clear. Do you have any idea of why this may be happening. Should I just replace the whole thing. Its a bout 5 yrs old.
We just helped our across the street neighbor with exactly this problem. It took 3 adults and 2 children to figure it out...Check not that the beam is clear, but that it is pointed in the right direction. Our neighbors was pointed slightly toward the garage door so that everytime the eye saw the door coming down, it thought something was in the way and stopped it halfway. So make sure it is pointed down and across the opening level so that the door won't trigger the safety.
I don't plan on racing on a track. i mostly ride trails and up hills and mountains. I would have bought a wr but i found the yz for really cheap. Its an 03 and completely new. Will it work for climbing hills and trails? do i need to change the gearing or sprocket?
I am 6'3'' and 160lbs
It can make a good trail bike only things i'd be concerned with is it can heat up pretty damn fast if your just putt-putt up a trail.. you need air going through the radiators... if you go really slow through trails I would reccomend you to stop every now and then for it to cool off. I wouldn't worry about the sprockets the stock gearing is just fine and fast enough with alot of torque. Keep in mind the YZ has a really light flywheel so it can stall easier if you are in tight/technical area.. you can add a flywheel weight.

Come on Messenger girl. Lets have some more photos of the bike!!
I'm getting to learn the hard way that cheap parts and high mileages don't mix. My new 'bmx' chain and track sprocket have only lasted 3 weeks.
