Is it ok to upgrade the intake on a stock turbo eclipse gsx without upgrading the air filter?


I want to upgrade my rubber stock intake to a hard metal one. Is upgrading the air filter a must as well? Its an automatic and its my daily driver so I just want to give it a couple upgrades that I can install myself because I'm a beginner when it comes to car repairs. Also, what advantages would an upgraded air filter have? Does it improve horsepower at all or will the upgraded intake do that alone? Thanks.

Intakes are designed to increase air flow to the engine and they do that by decreasing the resistance of the stock filter and ducting. Replacing only the ducting may increase performance if the stock ducting has many turns with sharp angles and the new ducting straightens and smoothes the flow through the ducting. Most likely replacing only the ducting will not do much at all, because it follows the same angles and lines as the stock one. If you are going to do it, and you want to see an improvement, do it right and get a high quality replacement intake and filter. This simple upgrade will not hurt the drivability of the car, just enhance it.

Can you upgrade/ replace the plastic bolt of a WGP synergy with a metal one?


I decided to buy a WGP Snergy Equalizer paintball marker, it seems perfect for me because I'm familiar with paintball but I want to start using a speedball marker now. the only thing that is a problem in my mind is the markers bolt... with it being plastic it makes me think that it is going to break very easily. All I want to know is if I can upgrade the bolt OR replace it with a different bolt (THAT IS NOT PLASTIC) from a completely different paintball marker. Thank you to anyone who helps me out.

It's not plastic. It's delrin. And it's plenty tough for being a bolt. A lot of guns use delrin bolts now, especially high ends, because it's lighter than aluminum so the bolts can cycle faster, helping increase firing speeds. Bolts also don't go through that much wear & tear, they're only sliding back & forth. The worst damage they can incur is scratches if there's a ton of dirt & debri in the breach.

    You could get a Gibson Special second hand. It doesn't have to have a classic tone lmao. The most important pedal Scott uses (in my opinion) is the sh¡tkiller one it completely changes the sound.. I can't remember the name of the one he uses, but it bassically kills the spare noise. That's what gives it the "bitey" sound.
    A euro doesn't get you very far down south =/. I would try and get a damaged Gretsch Duo from ebay or something. When people say guitars are damaged, they mean something pathetic like there's a chip in the body.
    So yeah, try and get a Gretsch I'd say or just upgrade your current Epi.
