So it finally happened to me... at 34 weeks my feet and ankles are the size of tug boats. Other than putting my feet up as much as possible and not sitting for too long ( i work in an office where i sit all day) is there anything else I can do to help lessen the swelling? Even a little bit would help at this point...
Also, I know this is a normal part of pregnancy but at what point should I worry about too much swelling? What causes it? and How can you prevent it?
swelling of hands and feet is part of the signs of Pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), or preeclampsia, also called toxemia. As long as your blood pressure is below 140/90, it is fine.
I have swollen hands and feet too. I followed these treatments:
Rest, lying on my left side to take the weight of the baby off my major blood vessels Consume less salt, and also watch suger consumption Drink 8 glasses of water a day Self-check my blood pressure once a day Relax, relax and relax
